Under-the-Sink Solutions

The space under your sink is prime real estate for storage, yet it’s often underutilized. A two-tier storage system with sliding drawers is a game-changer — it maximizes vertical space while keeping everything neatly organized across two levels. Plus, the sliding drawers make it easy to access items without disrupting the rest of your setup.

Stackable Acrylic Drawers

Clear, stackable acrylic drawers are a sleek and space-saving way to store your essentials. Since they’re transparent, you can easily see what’s inside at a glance. These drawers are perfect for organizing makeup, dental products, razor refills, loose cords, chargers and other small accessories while keeping them dust free.

Assorted Bins and Baskets

Bins and baskets in various sizes help keep small items like Q-tips, medications, creams and ointments neatly contained and easy to access. Opt for labeled or color-coded containers to create an even more organized look.

Hooks for Extra Hanging Space

Hooks are a simple yet effective way to keep towels and bathrobes within easy reach. If you prefer a non-permanent option, adhesive hooks are a great alternative. In the shower, suction hooks provide a hassle-free solution for hanging loofahs and shower brushes.

Over-the-Door Racks

The back of the door is an underrated storage opportunity! Over-the-door racks and hooks instantly add extra space without taking up floor area. Use them to store everyday essentials like moisturizers, hairbrushes, hairdryers and styling tools.

Towel Ladder

A towel ladder isn’t just functional — it doubles as a stylish decor element. It’s especially useful in a guest bathroom for storing extra towels or next to a bathtub for easy access.

Portable Caddy

A portable caddy with multiple shelves can instantly double your storage capacity. It’s a great way to keep your most-used skincare and bath products organized, and since it’s mobile, you can move it around as needed for added flexibility.

With these clever storage solutions, you can create a more organized and efficient bathroom — no renovation required!

How to organize a small linen closet

Small linen closets often tend to be an overlooked space. This type of closet can become quite cluttered and overwhelming to tackle as unused and old sheets and towels start to pile up and accumulate. A well-organized linen closet not only saves time but can also reduce stress by eliminating the need to rummage through the mess to find what you need. In this article, I’ll share how to organize a small linen closet and maximize the space using a few simple products.

Materials Required:

Step 1: Declutter and Sort

The first step is to declutter. Pull everything out of the closet and start to group items into categories such as bedding, towels, toiletries, cleaning supplies and seasonal items. For items that are worn out and/or not suitable for use, discard or donate as you see appropriate.

Step 2: Find Suitable Storage Options

The most critical part of maximizing a small closet space is to find storage options that are appropriate and versatile. I recommend a variety of foldable fabric storage boxes in different sizes, baskets, clothing organizers with dividers and tiered storage organizers.

Storage options that have a clear window pane or made from a transparent material will be super helpful as you’ll be able to easily see what’s being stored in them.

There are also some great duvet/sheet set organizers made specifically for this purpose, however, they often have higher price points. Clothing organizers that have dividers, like the ones shown below, are a great affordable alternative to separate duvet and sheets sets.

Step 3: Organize Items by Frequency of Use

Consider placing the most frequently used items at eye level and ensure they are easily accessible. Items that are seasonal or extra bedding and linens should be stacked away in storage boxes and placed on the top or bottom shelf.

Step 4: Labeling is Key

To make it super easy to locate items that are not frequently used, labels are your best friend. You can either accomplish this with a label maker or simply handwrite them on sticky labels.

Step 5: Maximize Vertical Space

There is often a larger vertical space between the closet floor and the bottom shelf or the very top shelf. Consider maximizing these vertical spaces with tiered storage. These areas are great to store extra toiletries and cleaning supplies.

Step 6: Seasonal Audit

Lastly, audit your inventory once every season. The change of seasons is a great time to swap in/out items, discard any unwanted linens or make a donation. Doing this at a minimum of twice a year will ensure this closet space is much easier to organize.

I hope these tips were helpful!

As the leaves change shades and the air turns cool, it’s time to embrace the cozy and warm vibes the fall season has to offer. It’s truly the best time of year for a quick decor refresh by introducing a rich colour palette and natural textures into your home.

Even better news: decorating your home for fall doesn’t need to cost a fortune. You can easily transform any living space into a seasonal haven that captures the essence of cozy season. Read on to discover how to update your home for fall under $100.

Fall Foliage

Gather a few favourite vases you have on hand, and swap out the green and floral stems of the summer season for jewel-toned foliage (think deep reds, burnt orange and yellows). There are plenty of artificial options you can purchase that capture the feeling of autumn at affordable prices. Not only are these great to create a charming centerpiece, but also equally impressive when added to wreaths, mantle displays, or even draped across the dining table.

Vintage-Style Wall Art

The simple addition of art can instantly transform any space. For the fall season, select prints that have a vintage-inspired oil painting feel. Images such as rolling hills, old farmhouses or seasonable fruits like apples and pears work wonderfully this time of year. You can also source digital options online to print and frame yourself. In terms of hanging artwork, temporary hooks are great for those who might not want to permanently commit.

Pumpkins Galore

When we think of autumn, we immediately think of pumpkins. Be sure to seek out elevated and unique faux varieties that aren’t too Halloween inspired. Knit and fabric options are great. Acquire pumpkins in various shapes and sizes and get creative with fun ways to display, stack or arrange them.

Wooden Details

Fall decor doesn’t need to be emblazoned with leaves and pumpkins. Introducing cozy warmth can be done subtly. Replace decorative items that use cooler materials such as metal and chrome with warm touches of wood. These details can range anywhere from wall decor and picture frames to small sculptures and table lamps.

If you’re truly on a tight budget but still want to bring in some new items, DIY crafts and thrift shop hunting are also great options. You can easily upcycle an existing decor item at home by giving it a fresh coat of paint or gathering items from your morning walk such as pinecones and branches that can add an extra fall feel at home. Thrift shops have so many great pre-loved items that are vintage inspired or seasonal.

As you can see, with a little bit of creativity and strategic shopping, you can give your home a quick fall makeover for less.

As we eagerly await the arrival of summer, there’s no better way to enjoy these warmer evenings than with an outdoor movie night with your loved ones. Whether you have a backyard, terrace, or small balcony, you can easily transform it into a cozy outdoor theatre with little effort.

So break out the blankets, pillows and popcorn and set up your own starlit cinema by following these simple steps.

Materials Required:

  • Projector
  • Projector screen (a soft hanging screen is shown here, but one with a stand works too)
  • Extension cord (if required)
  • Hooks
  • Double-sided stickies
  • Comfortable seating (such as loungers and chairs)
  • Lounging cushions
  • Outdoor rug
  • Cozy blankets
  • Snacks and beverages
  • Added bonus: string lights for extra ambiance

Step 1: Find a Premium Location

Determine the best spot to set up your theatre. If you’re using a soft projector screen that requires hanging, then a flat surface (such as a fence that is free of debris) would be ideal. If you’re using a free-standing projector screen, make sure the ground is level.

Step 2: Set Up Your Screen

Since I chose to secure my soft screen onto my fence, I gathered a few hooks and heavy-duty double-sided stickies to get the job done. Make sure the fence isn’t wet or covered in dirt. The hooks don’t stay on great on wet wood (you wouldn’t want your movie to be interrupted halfway through!). I recommend securing the top midpoint of the screen first, then fastening on the two top corners, before finally securing the bottom portion.

Step 3: Arrange Your Seating Area

Place comfortable seating in cozy theatre style. I used a couple of loungers, but those can easily be swapped out for foldable chairs, chaise loungers or even floor seating.

Step 4: Set Up the Projector

Find a small table with an optimal height to rest the projector on. Be sure to have access to an electrical outlet, and if need be, have an extension cord handy. Follow the manual to set up the projector to ensure optimal, movie-worthy results.

Step 5: Create Extra Comfort

Maximize the cozy factor for you and your movie-night guests with extra decor elements like an outdoor rug, comfy blankets and fluffy cushions.

Step 6: Serve Treats and Beverages

It’s not a movie night without snacks! Treat guests or family members to popcorn, their favourite candies and chilled beverages.

Step 7: Press Play, Sit Back and Enjoy!

And there you have it: a low-effort way to maximize your outdoor time this summer with a fun movie night right in your own backyard.
